How we know it's working
We don't claim our
partners' numbers.
The young people discipled in Nairobi, the church planters trained in South Asia, the youth reached through underground networks in Central Asia — that fruit belongs to the leaders doing the direct work. To report it as ours would misrepresent what you actually fund. So here is what we do measure.
Think of it this way
Fund a surgeon's training, research, and professional community, and the lives saved in the operating room belong to the surgeon. What you funded was the conditions that made the surgeon more capable.
That is our role — and it is a genuinely different kind of measurable result.
What we measure
01
Our Direct Outputs What we do — and can count.
- Leaders connected, gathered, and placed in ongoing community across 11 regions
- Organizations brought into the Next Gen Global Collab
- Collaborations initiated at our tables that would not have happened otherwise
- Duplication eliminated — leaders aligned around shared goals instead of running parallel programs
02
Conditions Created What changes because we set the table.
- Leaders who report reduced isolation, greater resourcing, and stronger peer accountability
- Soul Care engagements, Listening Labs, training events, and regional gatherings — moments we own
- New partnerships between organizations that existed only because NXT Move brought them together
03
The Research Dashboard How we will prove it — not assume it.
The NextGen Jesus-Following Index — a 7-year global initiative we steward — produces annual data on actual faith engagement among young people worldwide. This is how we prove that stronger leaders produce stronger outcomes.
Stanford's Collective Impact framework names five conditions for lasting change. Four already exist across our network. The fifth — shared measurement — is exactly what the Index is built to provide.
Without it, 30 organizations remain 30 isolated efforts.
With it, they become a movement.
Inside the Index
The Index measures three questions across ages 13–30 in 50+ countries — the same three questions we hold every gathering accountable to.
01
Do they follow Jesus?
Belief
- God exists
- Jesus is the Son of God
- Forgiveness comes through Jesus
- The Bible is God's Word
Practice
- Prays weekly
- Reads Scripture weekly
02
Do they participate in His mission?
Gospel-Advancing
- Actively shares their faith
Christian Community
- Part of a church
- Actively being discipled
03
Does their world look different because of Him?
Influence
- Faith shapes family, school & work
- Contributing to positive change in society
- Taking action on a real need in the world
~50,000
respondents surveyed annually, comparing youth connected to ministry networks against a general public sample. That gap is the measure.

In Their Words
Some partners are moved by numbers; others by names. Behind the conditions we create are real leaders whose stories tell the same truth.
Gloria Europe
Six years ago she walked into a Young Evangelists Academy as a teenager.
Today she leads the very program she came through — raising up hundreds of evangelists every year. Not addition. Multiplication.
Joe Gachira Nairobi · Africa
For the first time in Kenya's history, Presbyterian, Anglican, Pentecostal, and Evangelical bishops sit in the same room with next-gen and marketplace leaders.
United around a common mission for the next generation — movement-building at the level of a whole city.
Ruslan Zagidulin Central Asia
When Ruslan lost his son, the NXT Move community grieved with him. Prayer came from across the world.
"It was like a family." The relational infrastructure that keeps leaders going long after any gathering ends.
Jaira Southeast Asia
A young student NXT Move invested in before she could fully see her own potential.
She now leads Youth Alive, impacting hundreds of lives.
An Investment That Multiplies
Direct Ministry Partner
Reaches young people directly
Counts disciples, conversions, programs
Reports on a region or community
Impact: deep and local
NXT Move
Strengthens the leaders who reach them
Counts leaders connected, collaborations formed, isolation reduced
Reports across 11 regions and 50+ nations
Impact: catalytic and compounding
Both are essential — but they are not competing for the same role. An investment in NXT Move is a multiplier investment: the kind that compounds across an entire ecosystem rather than a single program.
"God does it. We don't. Our job is to create the conditions where He can."
