A multi-generational community of biblical servant leaders whose authentic, accountable relationships are worked out in holistic synergy and collaboration.
What God is doing here
For the first time in Kenya's history, Presbyterian, Anglican, Pentecostal, and Evangelical bishops are sitting in the same room — not as rivals, but as fathers inviting the next generation into the mission together. The Nairobi Model City initiative is the working proof that city-scale collaboration isn't theoretical in Africa. It's already happening, and 5–6 cities across the continent are preparing to follow.
"NXT Move is not just facilitating conversations — we are building a movement. One where collaboration replaces division."
Joe Gachira, Africa Strategist
Mercy & justice converged at city scale — owned by Africa.
Young African leaders are catalyzing the flagship proof-of-concept for NXT Move Africa. What's emerging in Nairobi is the working model 5–6 cities across the continent are preparing to adopt — the first time young leaders from across faith networks, vocations, and communities are catalyzing a city-scale Kingdom initiative together.

Africa is home to nearly 1 billion people under the age of 30—the most youthful demographic on the planet, where a staggering 70% of the population is under 30 with a median age of just 19. In Nairobi, NXT Move is doing something unprecedented: for the first time in Kenya's history, Presbyterian, Anglican, Pentecostal, and Evangelical bishops are sitting in the same room with next-gen and marketplace leaders, united around a common mission for the next generation.
We are shifting power dynamics by lowering barriers for young leaders, moving away from directive global mindsets, and fueling an indigenous culture of shared, ethical, and cross-generational leadership. This is an evidence-based, youth-led disruption where faith is made highly visible through civic engagement, missional entrepreneurship, and digital innovation.
The Nairobi Model City initiative is the flagship expression of collaborative leadership in Africa — a community of intentional prayer, a hub of resource and knowledge sharing, and a platform for leadership development built on social justice and servant leadership principles. NXT Move convenes the multi-generational community, facilitating the strategic processes that make city-wide transformation possible.
NXT Move champions Africa's leaders by amplifying indigenous solutions—models created by African leaders, for African contexts. The NXT Move Africa team leads a strategic group of bishops, teenagers, marketplace leaders, and youth movement leaders dreaming together of a shared preferred future for Nairobi and beyond.
Through Vision Summits and direct partnerships with local churches and para-church organizations, we are scaling this blueprint across geographic boundaries into Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Uganda. We are championing a future where global resources align to support local strategies, empowering young African leaders as they prepare 5 to 6 more cities across the continent to adopt this very model.
