Change Your World - Leading Beyond Yourself

Leading Beyond Yourself

In Jeremiah 29:7, we are reminded of the importance of seeking peace and prosperity for our cities or countries. This passage teaches us that our personal well-being is closely tied to the well-being of our surroundings. Just as the people of Israel were called to bring about change and pray for Babylon, their place of exile, we too are called to make a difference in our communities.

Prayer and Action: The Path to Transformation

While prayer is essential, it is not enough on its own. The transformation we seek in our cities requires us to take action. We must become agents of change in our communities, actively seeking peace and prosperity. It is not enough to simply observe the challenges around us — we must be moved to action.

The Power of Personal Peace and Prosperity

Jeremiah’s words remind us that personal peace and prosperity lay the foundation for change in our cities. If each individual and family in a community experiences peace and prosperity, the entire city will thrive. Therefore, our pursuit of well-being should start with ourselves and our own homes. When we learn to live in peace and find paths to prosperity, we have the power to influence those around us.

Duplication and Transformation: Leading by Example

The process of transformation is further enhanced when we teach others to help and inspire their own communities. By following the model of leadership and discipleship set by Jesus Himself, we are empowered to unleash a ripple effect of transformative change. Jesus, working through His disciples, established a close-knit community that eventually expanded and spread its influence throughout the world.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”Matthew 28:19-20

Of 12 people commissioned to evangelize, today we are millions of Christians around the world. Change began in the hearts of each disciple, which was soon evident in their lives, subsequently impacting their families, friends, neighbors, and communities, and eventually spreading to millions of people worldwide.

The Promise of Support and Guidance

Initiating change may seem daunting, but we are not alone in this journey. Jesus promises to always be with us, providing support and guidance. With Jesus as our companion, we can overcome any challenges we may encounter. As we follow His teachings and lead with love, we can create a better world, one community at a time.

Change begins with us — with our personal commitment to leading by example. Through prayer, action, and the empowerment of others, we can create a ripple effect that transforms our communities and beyond. With Jesus as our guide, we have the power to change the world, one person at a time.
