Answering God's Call for This Generation

New Wine

In Matthew 9:17, Jesus uses the metaphor of new wine to convey spiritual truths that are essential for believers to live by. As children of God, we are called to be the new wine that influences and transforms this generation.

Even within the Church, there is a tendency to rely on outdated methods and strategies that may have been successful in the past but hinder our ability to embrace God’s new directions. We must break free from these old forms and open ourselves up to the next move of God.

Acts 2:17 promises that God will pour out His Spirit in the last days. The Holy Spirit is a gift from God, guiding and teaching us to become something new. As new wine, we must be open to transforming into fresh and transformational tools in the hands of God. We should be willing to challenge and let go of any doctrine, perception, or experience that does not reflect His glory.

Creating a contagious community is an integral part of influencing our generation. Acts 2:44-47 exemplifies how believers in the early church were united, shared everything, and consistently met together with joy and sincerity. By building contagious relationships rooted in selflessness, we foster an environment of acceptance, love, and responsibility.

God is inviting us to become new wine in this generation. As we disentangle ourselves from the old order, embrace our unique calling, and develop a deep relationship with God, we can bring about the transformation that this world desperately needs.
