Cities move.
People flourish.
The entity arm of the NXT Move South Pacific community — building resilience, belonging, and lasting wellbeing in young people, city by city.
A charity built to stay.
NXT Move Plus 8 is a registered Australian health promotion charity, based in Perth and working across the Asia–Pacific and Oceania. It exists where youth wellbeing, community development, and human flourishing meet — taking mental health training, public art, and digital wellbeing resources into schools, churches, and city streets.
What sets the work apart is not the speed of it. It is the length of it. In their own words: “We don't parachute in. We stay.” That is the same conviction driving the wider South Pacific community — deep, long-term family rather than rapid expansion.
From Perth to Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, and Auckland, Plus 8 carries a simple thesis: when a city moves toward its young people, those young people flourish — and they become proactive agents of change in their own communities.
Six programs. One aim.
Accredited and non-accredited training delivered in partnership with Get Equipped — putting practical first-response skills into the hands of the adults nearest to young people.
A formal qualification currently pending national accreditation — turning a short course into a recognised credential young workers can carry into any setting.
Community murals and public art installations that open conversations about mental health and reconciliation in the places people already walk.
Art-based environmental design for organisations — shaping the rooms and spaces where people work, learn, and heal.
A filmed conversation series exploring what community resilience actually looks like on the ground, city by city.
A digital wellbeing resource in print and audiobook — helping young people and the adults around them find their way back from the screen.
Amit Khaira.
Amit brings two decades of experience across youth work, community health, and education, and holds a Master of Theological Studies. He serves on the Global Youth Commission and co-leads the NXT Move South Pacific community alongside Steve Scrimgeour.
His dream is a simple one: that resources would flow where they are needed, and that everyone would understand the Kingdom is worth living and dying for.
Two organisations, one mission.
NXT Move Plus 8 is its own registered Australian charity, with its own board, its own programs, and its own giving pathway. NXT Move does not own it and does not run it.
What NXT Move does is catalyze, collaborate, and champion — connecting Amit and the Plus 8 team into a global community where there are no logos and no egos, only the name of Jesus lifted up. What Plus 8 learns in Perth travels out through the network. What the network learns comes back into the South Pacific.
That is the model across every NXT Move region: locally owned, globally connected.
Programs, training, bookings and giving all live over there.
You're about to leave nxtmove.global. NXT Move Plus 8 is a separate registered Australian health promotion charity (ABN 28 681 707 200, DGR Item 2 listed), partnered with NXT Move South Pacific. The link below opens in a new tab, so this page stays open behind it.
